Wow! This school year seems to be flying by! The students are doing a great job getting to know one another. The students will begin Unit 4 in reading this month. I encourage students to read for at least 20 minutes a day. The students are welcome to bring home library books. In math, the students have been working hard on their addition and subtraction. We have also began to study multiplication as well. Did you know there are valuable tools, games, and brain teasers online that correlate with your third graders math curriculum? Visit www.eduplace.com, select Tennessee, and click on mathematics. Have fun! Finally, the students have completed our social studies unit on Economics and will be studying Government when we come back from Christmas Break. We have several exciting units in Science still to come - Space, Animals, and several others. I look forward to seeing the students work hard on upcoming projects. Remember that TCAP testing will be at the end of the school year. I enjoy having every student in class.
